We’ve got another new week, so that means it’s time for a new podcast, and here it is!
Still doing my best to survive in these trying times, which makes me do random things around my house, such as re-cataloging my DVDs. But before that puts you to sleep, I tell you that we’re finally getting a whole new version of Justice League. Over in the Streaming Report, I tell you my thoughts on a couple of classic movies I finally streamed, plus my thoughts on the final season of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Oh, and I’m also getting new glasses!
And that’s everything that’s going on in Episode 10.06: The Heights of Boredom.
And here we go again with a brand new episode of The Targ. Since podcasts started as audio blogs, I go into blogging territory as I vent about my car and how it’s been giving me grief lately. They’ve just announced yet another new Star Trek series, so I tell you all about that and all the other Star Trek shows that are coming. In The Streaming Report I give my new Blu-Ray of Birds of Prey a spin. And I get nostalgic about the Studio Ghibli Museum.
And that’s what’s all on deck in Episode 10.05: Where I’m At
Another new week means I’ve got another new episode of U62: The Targ as I keep myself occupied during this times of self-isolation. I’m still managing to get out and go for walks to get some exercise, and I was poetic about that. Hence the title of this week’s show.
I also recap the Star Wars news that came out of Star Wars Day, take you down the rabbit hole that is Disney Theme Park vlogs, and in the streaming report, I catch-up on sci-fi by binging Ex Machina, Arrival, and Annihilation.
Well, this episode is going to be going up the week of Star Wars Day, so what better topic than Star Wars?
You have to admit, the ’10s have been a pretty good decade for Star Wars. We got five new movies, two new animated series, our first live-action series, and a whole bunch more. So I give you my thoughts on all of it: what I thought of the sequel trilogy, in The Streaming Report, I offer my thoughts on The Mandalorian and the revival of Clone Wars, and this shocking new trend of the disdain for the sequel trilogy leading to a new appreciation for the prequels!
All this week in Episode 10.03: Talkin’ ‘Bout Star Wars!
And we’re continuing with the new, self-isolation version of U62: The Targ, as all my old podcasting gear from my closet seems to be working, so we’re still doing this.
It’s starting to warm up outside, and as always, that makes me nostalgic for my days of cycling, so I share some stories about that. Canadian Blood Services just swung through town, so since you can still get out and donate blood, I tell you all about that. We just hit the 30th anniversary of the first live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, so I reminisce. And for The Streaming Report, I update you on Pokemon: Origins and Disney nature documentaries.
And we’re back! Bringing back the podcast after…looks like my last one was about a year and a half ago. I’ve noticed that in these days of self isolation, a lot of my radio colleagues have decided to get into the podcast game, so I thought I would do likewise and bring mine back! And I’ve got the time to do it, too, seeing as to how I’ve, er, um, been temporarily laid off.
So I tell you all about that. I also try something new called The Streaming Report, where I tell you about what I’ve been binging. For the first one, I watch every Herbie the Love Bug movie on Disney+. And that leads into a general rant about how streaming services have just exploded.
All right here on the latest episode of U62: The Targ!
Wow, I haven’t done this in a while. It’s a podcast! I’ve been thinking about doing one all summer, and I just kept putting it off and putting it off, and then I saw that it’s World Podcast Day, and so I figured I’d go for it!
So, what’s been on my mind all summer that I felt I had to podcast about it? Well, my thoughts on Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story, of course! That’s not all…I also mention what’s going on with me. If you’re my Facebook friend, then you’ve seen my cryptic “health updates” from time to time. So, I give you the full update on my health.
All that in Thanksgiving Special 2018: A Thanksgiving Special!
And since we’re at it, may as well talk about the other trailer: Thor Ragnarok, which broke records for being the biggest trailer launch in Disney’s history. And that naturally leads into a bunch of Marvel news.
And, a tale of buried treasure from the UK, which I find just fascinating.
And I’m going to try something. Real Life has gotten a little too busy to pump one out weekly, so at the very least, I’m going to try and pump one out monthly. Hopefully, this’ll be the start.
Well, when I posted my Christmas special podcast, I said, “Gee, I’d better make a podcast pretty early in the new year, or else the first thing people will see when they come by my website is the Christmas podcast, and that’ll get out-of-date pretty quickly.”
It only took me until Groundhog’s Day to do it! That, and, as I was blogging last week, I figured that there’s lots I have to podcast about, so I should get to it.
And here we are with February Special: A Month of Holidays. So what compelled me to sit behind the mic once again?
Sharing my woes that I didn’t get a Classic NES for Christmas
Geeking out over my new phone and my first adventures in Pokemon Go.
And mourning the closure of HMV, and reminiscing about all the music stores that used to be in West Edmonton Mall.
December is upon us, and I just had an itch to do a Christmas podcast. As I explain in the podcast, every three or four years, I figure I need to freshen up my Christmas music library, and buy a bunch of new Christmas albums. I did that last year. So as I was scrolling through my Christmas music, listening to the tunes as I decorated the apartment, I figured I should share this music in a podcast.
And this, Christmas Special: Scarecrow’s Second Christmas Mix Tape. I mostly play a bunch of my favourite Christmas songs, and in between, I share some stories of the season.
I celebrate some little victories.
I share what I want for Christmas (a classic NES, if they can still be found.)
I share a little bit on the history of A Christmas Story
And a special holiday edition of Mark Tastes Random Things, where I try all the Christmas pepperminty stuff from Tim Hortons.
All this and more in Christmas Special: Scarecrow’s Second Christmas Mix Tape.
